Little Girl Found

Helping women of all ages find healing in Jesus Christ

What’s It All About? January 12, 2010

Little Girl Found is a blog intended to help women and anyone with hurt in their lives overcome their adversity. The notion for this blog came about when I was researching the passage in Luke 13:10-17 In this text we find a woman who is crippled by a spirit of infirmity. This spirit not only cripples her, but has her in a position where she is bent over. Can you imagine living with a condition like that for over 18 years where people look down at you and treat you as if you have no worth? Yet, in her condition of isolation and in her despair of feeling lost and even neglected by her community, Jesus calls out to her and heals her.

In this text there are other issues, but the highlight of the text for me is that Jesus calls her to come to him. After he is criticized by the Pharisees for healing her on the Sabbath, he identifies her as a daughter of Abraham. There are other issues in the text, but the primary implication is that Jesus calls her to him, heals her, and then gives her an identity and sets her into a position where she is healed and restored to her faith community and gives her a status as an important person in the kingdom of God.

Like the woman with the spirit of infirmity, many of us are lost and waiting to find relief from our burdens, pain, hurt, and trauma that has us stooped over. While we may be lost, Jesus seeks us and calls us out by name and offers us the opportunity to establish our identity as daughters and equal heirs in the Kingdom of God. This blog is intended to help women find themselves through the healing that can only come through Jesus. Be healed my sisters and find the peace that can only come through knowing Jesus!
